2015 November Newsletter – A Fresh Start for $1.24
For many of us, Thanksgiving is a time for fellowship and food with family and friends.
But for some, it’s just another Thursday spent on the streets of Orlando, hoping to find a decent meal and a safe place to sleep so they can make it to Friday.
Julius knows this struggle all too well. He spent last Thanksgiving homeless as he battled addiction. There was no turkey with trimmings and pumpkin pie – just hunger, fear, pain and loneliness. As he shared in his story this month, things got so bad he even contemplated checking himself into a mental institution.
What a difference a year makes! Today, Julius has plenty to be thankful for. He has a roof over his head and enjoys three meals a day. Most importantly, he’s been clean and sober for months and is working hard to get back on his feet.
Julius is one of hundreds of men, women and families whose lives have been restored thanks to the generosity of friends like you. When you provide a meal or night of shelter to a homeless neighbor, you’re giving them the chance to choose a better life for themselves – one of permanent independence built on a relationship with Jesus Christ.
$1.24 is all it takes to help one struggling man or woman take that first step. Will you help today?
