Hello Friend,

My name is David, and I’m a disciple at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission’s Men’s Home. I never thought I’d find myself homeless, but in 2013 I lost my marriage, my job, and my home – all in a three-day span. I knew homelessness existed but I never gave it a second thought. Then it happened to me, and it changed my whole perspective.

Before coming to the Mission, I was sleeping outdoors – behind shrubs and between buildings. It was really scary! I didn’t have anything to eat or drink for my first day and a half on the streets.

I came to the Mission just to get a meal, but I received a whole lot more. I learned about Jesus Christ and surrendered my life to Him. It’s made all the difference in the world. Today I have a good job, and I am saving money to get my own place.

I just want to thank you for helping make this possible. It’s a good feeling to know there are people like you who actually care about the homeless. When you give, you aren’t investing in the Mission, you’re investing in people like me. Thank you again!
