Local Rescue Mission Set to Host Final Christmas Banquet Before Relocation of Men’s Center

 In Press Releases

Orlando, FL – Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM) is set to host one final Christmas Banquet
at its current Men’s Center. The event comes three years after the Orlando Magic and OURM
reached an agreement to purchase the land at the corner of Central Boulevard and Division
Street to make way for the NBA team’s $200 million entertainment complex. Only days ago,
OURM president and CEO Fred B. Clayton announced plans to renovate the former Parkwood
Inn on W. Colonial drive into a 200-bed facility. The new Men’s Home location will offer 80 more
beds than the old site and will feature a newly constructed, 2,000-square-foot chapel.
The Mission’s annual Christmas Banquet is free and open to anyone in need. Staff members and
volunteers expect to serve between 600 and 800 meals. On the menu: ham, yams, green beans,
rolls, and an assortment of desserts. In addition to a hot meal, Banquet guests will receive other
essentials, all donated by local individuals, schools, churches, and businesses.

When: Friday, December 16, 2016

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Notes: Interview opportunities available with Orlando Union Rescue Mission President/CEO, banquet
