Local Rescue Mission Set to Host Christmas Banquet at New Location
Orlando, FL – Tomorrow, the Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM) is set to host its annual community-wide Christmas Banquet at its new location. President/CEO, Freddy Clayton expressed his excitement of hosting the event this year for the first time:
“After four years of patience and progress, we’re excited and inspired to be able to host the 2017 banquet, our inaugural event, at our new facility. We’d like to thank God, the community, the city and the Magic for their help and support.”
The new Men’s Home location will offer 80 more beds than the old site, and will feature a newly constructed, 2,000-square-foot chapel.
The Mission’s annual Christmas Banquet is a community wide event that’s free and open to anyone in need. Mission staff members and volunteers expect to serve between 600 and 800 meals. On the menu: turkey, mac and cheese, green beans, rolls, and an assortment of desserts. In addition to a hot meal, banquet guests will receive other essentials, all donated by local individuals, schools, churches, and businesses.

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
