Visually-Impaired Musician Celebrates Birthday by Giving Back
Dave Hillebrandt to Host Party for Homeless Women & Children
Orlando, FL – Dave Hillebrandt, a visually-impaired musician, is planning a unique way to celebrate his born-on day by sponsoring a birthday bash for residents at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM). Hillebrandt, an Orlando resident, turns 53 this Friday, wants to give back to those that would otherwise look at their own birthdate, and given current situation, as just another ordinary day.
12 OURM residents share birthdays in the month of October. Festivities include music, food, dancing and of course, birthday cake provided by 4Rivers Barbeque. Organizations and individuals sponsor or host monthly birthday parties for OURM residents to remind them that every life is worth celebrating.
“It’s really not about me,” Hillebrandt expresses. “I’ve always wanted to do something special for the Mission, so what better present to give than to throw a party for the residents which happens to fall on my birthday?” Asked if he plans to bring his acoustic guitar to serenade the crowd with the birthday song, Hillebrandt responded, “I would be thrilled, and wouldn’t have it any other way!”

Dave Hillebrandt is a local musician that was born without optic nerves and completely lost his sight around age 11. He plays the guitar at various local events. Dave’s genre ranges from Christian Rock to Reggae and Jazz.
