Stronger Together Volunteer Spotlight: Eva Faria & Enterprise Rent-A-Car
Companies like Enterprise Rent-a-Car stand out in a world that sometimes seems overwhelmed by busy schedules and obsessive self-interest. Enterprise’s dedication to encouraging employees’ support of worthwhile, non-profit organizations has blessed the Mission for years.
Eva Faria knows this more than most. For the last nine years, she has helped lead the Florida division of Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the company’s charitable initiative
This year, after a division-wide survey revealed homelessness was one of the top causes weighing on employees’ hearts, Eva said she “immediately thought of the Mission.” Consequently, the Mission is one of four organizations selected for Enterprise’s Stronger Together Employee Giving Program, where every dollar donated by an employee receives a 50% match from Enterprise.
In addition, as part of Enterprise’s “My Purpose My Time” volunteer program, employees are offered paid time off to volunteer for the causes close to their hearts. Eva arranged for employees to serve at the Mission’s Early Learning Center one day each month. Demand has been so overwhelming, Eva asked to expand their services to two consecutive days.
“They loved it,” Eva shares, ” Everyone just has so much fun with the kids”.
The domino effect of Enterprise’s generosity continues. Their next plan with the Mission: donating business attire no longer needed by employees due to a change in the company’s dress code.
It takes a village to transform lives at the Mission, and thanks to incredible people like Eva and benevolent organizations like Enterprise, our village continues to grow. The efforts of Enterprise and other corporate partners demonstrate that a commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and simple good-hearted generosity isn’t extinct. In fact, you see it beside you every day on the road when you drive past a car rented through Enterprise.
