One Saturday each month, the Soul-Lifted Sisters Prayer Ministry and Outreach prepare and serve breakfast to the guests at our Family Home. That meal is one of the many blessings the group brings to the Mission’s guests.
The Soul-Lifted Sisters regularly provide personal-care products, handwritten cards, school uniforms, and counseling and prayer. Dr. Erania Witherspoon founded the group in 2012 in Miami, and its members remain committed to empowering, encouraging, helping, loving, and praying for others.
The Sisters have served more than 19,000 meals to the homeless, sent thousands of cards to the sick and bereaved, distributed chemotherapy care packages to people around the world, shared gifts and companionship with nursing-home residents, and provided financial assistance and scholarships to families in need.

Dr. Witherspoon, the youngest of five children, dedicated herself to serving others after enduring hardship – homelessness, domestic violence, losing her mother at fifteen, and losing a brother to gun violence. “I knew I was going to help,” she shares. “I always saw my mom helping. She would say, ‘Everything I do, I do unto the Lord.’”
Shortly after retiring and moving to Clermont in 2023, she began volunteering at the Mission. With their love, enthusiasm, and faith, she and the Soul-Lifted Sisters transform the lives of our guests.
